Halloween Full Moon

My daughter came to me yesterday and asked: Do you know that Full Moon on Halloween happens once in 800 years?

I said: - It's impossible!!!
- Google it! - replied she.

But think I'm better astronomer than Google and can calculate it by myself.

I've started from the time Moon needs to circle the Earth. That is 29.530588853 days.
Than I took the time of the next Full Moon, which is 2014-10-08 10:52am UTC and did simple calculations.

And I was right. Full Moon on Halloween happens much more often than once in 800 years.
I'm proud I could amaze my daughter by my astronomy and programming skills.

Below is a list of 10 most recent Full Moons on Halloween and the next ten in the near future.
The very next one will be in 2020!

Not really sure about year of 2096. That is possible that my precision rounded time and Full Moon happens one second before, which would make it really to be on October 30st.

Hopefully one second does not make a big difference if you are not a ghost or a vampire.

Also, doing that exercise I've learned how to calculate Full Moon timing at any point in the future, that means I can calculate position of the Moon at any time.

The next step would be to learn how to calculate Lunar and Solar eclipses. That is such a hot topic right before two coming once.
